Yuria - Greenhouse Photoshoot

During 2025 I was lucky enough to work with Yuria a few times during her short stay in Australia. Our first shoot was originally planned to be around Fitzroy gardens, however due to poor weather we instead focused on just shooting in the greenhouse conservatory. Photographing in a space where space is limited was a challenge, more so as there was a steady stream of visitors (and people just wanting to escape the rain) moving through the greenhouse. This meant we had to setup and photograph shots efficiently and avoid unintentional photobombing from passers-by.

I’m a strong believer that not every photoshoot has to have a grand overarching learning curve or challenge for the photographer. Although it is good practice to push yourself creatively, I wanted this shoot with Yuria to be a relaxing creative experience. However, given the plentiful flowers and colours around the greenhouse, I challenged myself to frame Yuria effectively with the vibrant background.

Although it was a quick photoshoot, Yuria and I were pleased with the end result of photos. I was also impressed with how I was able to manouver around the crowds of people walking through the greenhouse, and frame it so it looks like Yuria was the only person in the space (which was far from the case!)
